The meadow vegetation of the Desna river flood plain described by the authors is of great scientific significance as far as the protection of diversified syntaxa of inundation meadows is concerned. These syntaxa are different in their floristic composition. The largest inundation meadows of the Ukraine are best preserved in the flood plain of the Desna river where the authors have identified and described 18 associations of meadow vegetation attributed to 6 alliances, 2 orders and 2 classes of vegetation. They represent an ecological series ranging from steppe meadow to boggy meadows. The units thus specified are characterized by phytocenologic tables; the specificity and biological productivity of each association concerned being registered. The peculiar character of inundation meadows requires further more profound ecological and phytocenological studies of meadow communities which the authors propose for the future. 相似文献

We have studied the lipid composition of PC12 pheochromocytoma cells cultured in the presence and absence of nerve growth factor (NGF). Neutral and acidic lipid fractions were isolated by column chromatography on DEAE-Sephadex and analyzed by high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC). The total lipid concentration was approximately 220 micrograms/mg of protein, and the concentration of neutral glycolipids was 1.6-1.8 microgram/mg of protein for both NGF-treated and untreated cells. The neutral glycolipid fraction contained a major component, which accounted for approximately 80% of the total and which was characterized as globoside on the basis of HPTLC mobility, carbohydrate analysis, fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry, and mild acid hydrolysis. The major fatty acids of globoside were C16:0 (10%), C18:0 (16%), C22:0 (23%), C24:1 (17%), and C24:0 (24%). C18 sphingenine accounted for almost all of the long-chain bases. The other neutral glycolipids were tentatively identified as glucosylceramide (15%), lactosylceramide (4%), and globotriosylceramide (4.5%). The concentration of ganglioside sialic acid was approximately 0.34 and 0.18 microgram/mg of protein for cells grown in the presence and absence of NGF, respectively. Although there was an increase in ganglioside concentration in NGF-treated cells, NGF did not produce any differential effects on the relative proportions of the individual gangliosides. Several of the gangliosides appear to contain fucose, and one of these was tentatively identified as fucosyl-GM1. Brain-type gangliosides of the ganglio series were also detected by an HPTLC-immunostaining method. This paper presents an algorithm for determining the content of oil products in remediated soil that is safe for plants and microorganisms. The algorithm includes laboratory modeling of the remediation of soil samples that contain different amounts of soil products, determination of the biological parameters that provide the integral characterization of the soil state in these samples, and analysis of the results on the basis of odds-ratio statistics, which allows one to determine the content of oil products, starting from which the state of an oil-contaminated soil has no significant difference from a control soil. 相似文献

The prenatal treatment of diazepam on the developmental pattern of brain ornithine decarboxylase and the general growth of offspring were studied. Diazepam (120 mg/kg/day) was administered orally to pregnant Sprague-Dawley rats from day 14 to day 20 of gestation. The activity of brain ornithine decarboxylase and body weight of the offspring were measured from the late fetal stage to the early postnatal stage. It was found that diazepam inhibited both the prenatal and 4-hour postnatal ornithine decarboxylase activities, though the general maturation pattern of the enzyme in the brain was not much altered. It may indicate that diazepam inhibits early brain development. The enzyme activity fell off as it reached maturation. Prenatal treated neonates of 6-hour or older age group had the normal activities of brain ornithine decarboxylase. The general growth of the treated offspring was substantially retarded. Their body weights were very much lower than the control offspring. The results of the present study is an additional evidence that diazepam and other benzodiazepines should be used with great care in pregnant women. 相似文献

N-terminal amino acid sequences identify the 40-kDa polypeptide as the bacteriochlorophylla-protein of the baseplate (the Fenna-Matthews-Olson protein) and the 30-kDa polypeptide as the putative 2[4Fe-4S] protein encoded bypscB. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analysis shows the presence of an iron-sulfur cluster which is irreversibly photoreduced at 9K. Photoaccumulation at higher temperature shows the presence of an additional photoreduced cluster. The EPR spectra of the two iron-sulfur clusters resemble those of FA and FB of Photosystem I, but also show significantly differentg-values, lineshapes, and temperature and power dependencies. We suggest that the two centers are designated Center I (with calculatedg-values of 2.085, 1.898, 1.841), and Center II (with calculatedg-values of 2.083, 1.941, 1.878). The effect of gold nanoparticles on mouse epididymal sperm has been studied using the model system of nuclear chromatin decondensation
in vitro. It is shown that the treatment of gametes, preliminary membrane-freed by sodium dodecyl sulfate, in the mediums
containing gold nanoparticles (with diameter ∼2.5 nm) in concentrations 1.0 × 1015 or 0.5 × 1015 particles/ml and following incubation in dithiothreitol solution (DTT) resulted in failure of chromatin decondensation process
and nucleus structure. We conclude that gold nanoparticles possess spermatotoxicity. The mechanism of cytotoxic effect of
gold nanoparticles may be related with their interaction with molecules of double-helix DNA. The model system studied in this
research is applicable for further investigations of cytotoxic effects of nanoparticles of different origin and made of different
